Pilots

Just a little something. It isn't finished yet. It's kind of one of those times where it's almost done but not really but you want to see it coloured so you colour wash it. So yeah. I did fix a lot of it. It's just not here. (Like the feet--they're not really on the same plane I think..)

More Train Wip

Another look at tonight's 2nd half of the wip-ing.

Train Station

I just realized I didn't post anything for Nov. so something that's a wip.
I'm kind of BS-ing lighting and values at the moment since I'm finding I don't have time to go through it slowly and understand what's causing what. So yeah, it doesn't make sense, in short. Haha.

Hmm.

Mai and Zuko

A friend and I are actually dressed in these costumes for Halloween and I couldn't focus in class so...

Geisha

Liam

After the continuing jokes in Friday's Animation class, I kind of wanted to use the name Liam.......

He's also kind of based on this guy I see on the bus every once in a while in the morning.
So... haha.

Dream Fighters (revised)

Played with some paper texture things.
So a revamped version. If I don't use this for gradshow next year, I'm thinking of doing a better picture in the same style of all of these guys.

Color Layer Coordinated

This was done for a blog a friend created.
(Just a quickie, haha).

Playtime

Trying something new. I don't think I've done this before (the angle). Need to fix a lot of things. Lol. Hmm.

Hairstylist

I probably do a more stylized redo of this later. I need to ref a pic of her, too. She's actually my hairstylist, Kazu.

Layout Wips

I don't know where this is going actually.
It's changed from the original so far that it doesn't look like my room anymore (but I've been told do that). Hmm but I guess it's alright since it's for layout "design" class. Meaning it could be based off it loosely--kind of? I'm pretty sure the new one is better than the old one. The old one is full of ick. Haha.

Blues

The bass neck isn't long enough and need to change his arms. The Warwick bass neck looks noodley, haha!

But this is my attempt at drawing something half a sleep with RHCP music in the bg. Need to go to bed!

Studio - fin - Sing a Song for Me

After much debate on the finishing touches, here's the result. I think I might tweak it a bit in the future--raw file, anyways.

Not really satisfied with it, but I can say that this was an interesting piece to work on. I tried some new brushes/and techniques.

Updated Layouts

I know I posted these here before but I think I've never uploaded the "updated" versions.
The updated versions were done in last semester in first year, before the summer break, though.

I've been thinking of going over and fixing things but hmmm kind of lazy, haha.

Wip - studio2

Kind of almost there... kind of.

wip - studio

Hopefully I finish this soon... right now I'm thinking haha ew.
I wanted to try and do the water tool Sai effect in Photoshop. I can definitely say that it kind of works but takes way longer. The thing I don't like for the water toll for Sai is that it mixes your colours for you when you don't want to sometimes.. but it's definitely faster!

Studio

Hmm, his character is actually a singer but I've realized I've never really drawn him singing (apart from the time he was in a towel and a comb in his hand). His father is supposed to own a recording studio.

This condenser mic is based off an Apex mic I think. I used to use one of these (but I didn't sing, I just recorded musical instruments.) The actual mic part where the sound comes in actually lit up!

Dream Fighters

I wanted to do something a bit more "finished" this time.
My four original characters I've had for about 2 years (from left to right: Umi, Saki--Gii in the back--Daisuke on the right.)

Commission wip#4: Lux

Hmmm. Some progress. Again.

Commission wip#3: Lux

Getting there... slowly. I have the fix the area with his hand and the shirt. maybe I'll bring the hand out so it reads better. >_O It's really monotoney-ish in that area. It's hard to see the hand.

Commission wip#2: Lux

Fixed stuff on the face since last wip haha.
Definitely getting faster though. Took me an hour and half for the "full body" upgrade. Hmmm.

I can't tell if his face is too wide or not. When I switch between my two monitors it stretches it or squishes--that and the monitor colours are so off from each other That's like extra guess work?.......

Global Astroliner

Thanks to Sun for showing me Studio 4°C!
Some cool stuff I think you don't regularly see in Japan now-a-days. Reminds me of Gorillaz.

CROW: pg 1

Done on A4 manuscript paper with ink nibs (sorry, don't know the names of the specific ones!) and indian ink. Screentones from Letraset and cut out with an x-acto knife then pasted on.

Commission

Character belongs to a friend. Done as a commission.

Crow

This drawing was actually done as a prop for a costume of a character I'm making.
Done with Ink and pen nibs. (And a brush for big black parts).

WIP shots - Team Takagi

Long wip post is long. Somewhere along the way I decided I'll just colour it digitally so..

Random character.

I wanted to work with my ink nibs again (haha! When I opened the container where I keep the metal tips, it looked like I had twice as much as I had from the last time I looked at them!) Anyways. Last picture was a photo because the scanner washed out the paints. I haven't painted traditionally since last year somewhere (before high school graduation).

Layout Processes

------
This one I managed to do in three hours. Treated it more like a speed painting I guess.
