Layouts dump - Trains and Pilots

Almost done. It was supposed to be done, but I have to go back and fix the structure of some parts and add more contrast/metal glints/etc.

--------------------

Speaking of fixes, it's slightly annoying (but by all means it is my bad for not catching it before) when I find out parts that aren't working in a layout. Now it could be a stylistic thing. But when the shots aren't on model to each other, then it's a little bit of a problem.

It's always the one that I try to pass by without giving it much attention. (Haha, the ceiling structures in my train one. Same thing but fixed it last minute). I think this was one of the harder shots. My fault in this was thinking of the background after the plane was built.

Train Station - colour wip #2

This is the 2nd pass of colour. I'm estimating maybe another good 3 hours.

Master shot - Red Star Pilots

Something I finished up tonight. I still need to adjust the brightness in places. It's showing up rather dark in the levels in photoshop, which will be a problem in print later on. (I avoided trying to get to dark, though! Hmm.) I wanted to try a different colouring style.

I thought a little bit of the cartoons of the 60s. Been looking at those lately.

Train Station Layout Colour WIP

Some work in progress. I'm hoping it'll be under 4 more hours to finish this up, but I doubt it. Ahhh.

Value Sketch, Train Layout

I'm finding that the difference between the values are a bit hard to tell at the moment. (Too much going on?) Having said that, I believe in this case it would also have to rely on differentiation of colour. Contrast of saturation.

Obviously, this is still a wip.
I'm still trying to figure out the lighting on the floor. It's actually rather difficult, really.

Pilots animatic - wip

Work in progress on the layouts for the pilots project. I think I'll be cleaning them up tomorrow so I can do colour keys soon. And then I'll start posing out the two characters. I guess it's kind of like a beat board at the moment. These images go in chronological order.

The background here is incorrect. The ceiling is too wide but I already fixed it. File's on my hard drive but  haven't bothered to remake this image for the mean time.

And yes, I plan for a reuse of this for the re-establishing shot.

Also special thanks for Forrest and Scurvy for their voice talents! Can't wait to put everything together.

Train Colour Keys

I like each of them for their own reasons. If I had time, I'd love to do three of them, haha. But I don't think I'll be able to do that. I'm leaning towards the first one. People seem to be fond of that one the most.

More Train Wip

Another look at tonight's 2nd half of the wip-ing.

Train Station

I just realized I didn't post anything for Nov. so something that's a wip.
I'm kind of BS-ing lighting and values at the moment since I'm finding I don't have time to go through it slowly and understand what's causing what. So yeah, it doesn't make sense, in short. Haha.

Hmm.

Updated Layouts

I know I posted these here before but I think I've never uploaded the "updated" versions.
The updated versions were done in last semester in first year, before the summer break, though.

I've been thinking of going over and fixing things but hmmm kind of lazy, haha.

Master Layout wip

This layout will be part of the model pack I'm working on.

Just some random quick thing I did today. Wanted to test out OpenCanvas.
But this was done OpenCanvas+Photoshop.
